The Solution: Use SaasAnt’s Download (Export) feature to extract Check transactions into a clean Excel/CSV format.
The Key Benefit: Get a flat, unformatted database file including check numbers, payees, and line-item splits—perfect for Positive Pay files or bank reconciliation.
Quick Steps: Quick Access Dashboard > Download (Export) > Select Checks > Search > Download.
Install: Get SaasAnt Transactions from the QuickBooks App Store and start a free trial.
Connect: Securely authorize the connection to your QuickBooks Online company. We do not store your customer data; we simply process the transfer.

From the Quick Access dashboard (your default home screen), simply click the Download (Export) button listed in the main menu.
In the Transaction/List dropdown, select Checks.

Choose the date type that matches your goal:
Search By Transaction Date: Exports based on the date written on the check. Use this for bank reconciliation and Positive Pay files.
Search By Created Date: Exports based on when the check was entered into QuickBooks. Use this to audit recent data entry work.
Search By Last Updated Date: Exports based on when the record was last modified. Use this to sync changes (like voided checks) to an external system.
Range: Enter your start and end dates.
Format: Use the dropdown inside the date box to pick your preferred format (e.g., MM/DD/YYYY).
In the Use Saved Template dropdown, leave it as Simple Mapping for a standard export.
Tip: If you need specific columns (like "Print On Check Name" vs "Vendor Name"), you can create and save a custom mapping template via the + Add new Template option.
Use the advanced filters to isolate the specific checks you need:
Total Amount: Enter a From Amount and To Amount to find checks within a specific value range (e.g., checks over $10,000 for audit review).
Reference No: Input a specific check number to locate a single transaction.
Show Records From (Start At): Use this to chunk large exports. If you need to export 5,000 checks, run 1–2,500 first, then run a second search starting at 2,501.

After clicking Search, you will see the results grid:
Verify Check Numbers: Scan the Ref No column to ensure the check numbers sequence matches your register.
Select Format: Click the Download button (bottom right) and choose .xlsx (Excel) or .csv.
Export: Your file will download automatically.
The steps above are for manual exports. If you need this data regularly for fraud protection (Positive Pay) or offline archives, use the Backup module.
Set it and forget it: Schedule daily, weekly, or monthly exports.
Delivery: Have files automatically sent to email, FTP, or storage integrations without logging in.
Positive Pay: Generate a clean list of issued checks (Date, Amount, Payee, Check Number) to upload to your bank’s fraud prevention system.
Audit & Reconciliation: Quickly identify missing check numbers or duplicate payments by analyzing the flat Excel data.
Migration: Move check history cleanly to a new QuickBooks Online company file or Desktop edition without losing line-item details.
Yes. The export includes the specific name used for printing, which may differ from the vendor's display name. This is critical for matching bank records.
Yes. The export format is natively compatible with SaasAnt’s Import feature. We recommend keeping the Detailed Report set to ON to ensure all split line data (accounts/categories) is preserved for the move.
No, this application exports the transaction data only (dates, amounts, and payees). It does not export PDF images of the checks themselves.
